Saturday afternoon I met up with my friend, Mike, in Madrid, we settled at our hostel, and then picked up our race packets at the exposition. After, we met up with some UConn friends, including our best friend, Monica. We explored a little of Madrid and had a delicious dinner of tapas and sangria! After dinner, we met back up with the rest of our friends and enjoyed a night out in Madrid! We had lots of fun but didn't get much sleep; that made getting up for the half marathon quite difficult. Nonetheless, we got to the starting line and 13.1 miles later all crossed the finish line! It was a blast! The course was a bit hilly, but it was a great way to see the city. After the race, we had some more great food and then went to the Palacio Real, which was beautiful. By then it was time to say goodbye to Monica and my sorority sisters. From there, Mike and I had delicious churros with chocolate, and then I had to catch my flight back to Paris. Overall, it was a great weekend!
